McDowell's Home Inspections is owned and operated by Ray McDowell who makes his home in Loveland, Colorado. Ray has been operating his inspection business since the Fall of 2002. Ray McDowell retired from the Eastman Kodak Company after nearly 34 years. During that time he gained experience in pipe fitting, construction, electrical and was part of the safety team for many years. Ray has a natural ability to recognize problem areas. Ray has been professionally trained by The School of Building Inspections and has received specialized training in Radon testing and Heat exchangers.
Ray believes that a thorough inspection is a must before buying a home, it helps get everything out in the open thus making the buying and selling transaction honest and upfront. Most inspections take about three to four hours, the time required to complete an inspection depends on the size, age and condition of the home. Ray invites his clients to be present at the site of the inspection. It is his pleasure to discuss all the aspects of the home and answer questions after the inspection.
Most homes have defects which are fixable and need not be a reason not to buy a home. In today's market there are homes that are fixer-uppers which could be a good investment. A thorough inspection will give the investor an idea of what the home needs.
